Is your water TOO HOT?

One of the most common, easy fixes we find in home inspections is water heaters turned up TOO HIGH. While this seems pretty nit-picky, extremely hot water can cause burns quickly. In this photo it shows sink water being 130 degrees. Water at this temperature only takes 30 seconds to cause a burn. If this water was turned up to 140, it would only take 6 seconds!

If your water is too hot and needs adjustment, don't worry- it's an easy fix! All gas water heaters have a temperature control knob. Most have vacation, low, hot, then A, B, C, and Very hot. Change it to the desired temp, and you're done!
